Murphy Highlights Education Program Grant for Elizabeth City State University

Washington, D.C. -- Today, Rep. Greg Murphy, M.D. (NC-03) released the following statement in response to the U.S. Department of Education's announcement that Elizabeth City State University will be receiving a $231,973 grant under the Educational Opportunity Centers Program.

"I am happy to hear that Elizabeth City State University will be receiving a grant for the Educational Opportunities Program," said Murphy. "This important program is a wonderful opportunity for our students, as it is designed to increase the number of adult participants who enroll in postsecondary education institutions. As Ranking Member of the Higher Education and Workforce Investment Subcommittee, I am committed to ensuring that Third District students have the tools they need to succeed. I look forward to seeing how the Educational Opportunities Program will impower the next generation of North Carolinians!"
